The California Parks and Recreation Society (CPRS) recently recognized the Pena Adobe Historical Society for its outstanding volunteerism and service to the community in 2007.

Nominated by the Community Services Department of the City of Vacaville, PAHS was honored at the CPRS, District I 2007 Community Services and Professional Awards Banquet in Mill Valley.

Accepting a plaque for the Historical Socie ty at the February 23 dinner were Leo Huitt, Carole Noske, and Bob Allen.

During 2007, Historical Society members volunteered at the spring Fandango and three other events throughout the summer, with all events held at the adobe.  This year looks even busier as PAHS began a monthly open house at the adobe and museum.  The organizations is also developing other activities for upcoming months.
