It’s been 25 years since the Cache Creek Nature Preserve opened to the public!  Join the Peña Adobe Historical Society as we help celebrate the 25th Anniversary of its opening on Saturday, September 13th from 10:00am to 3:00pm at the Preserve, located 34199 County Road 20, Woodland, California 95695.  This event is free!

The Cache Creek Conservancy is a non-profit organization dedicated to the restoration and preservation of the Cache Creek watershed in Northern California.  The focus of the Conservancy’s work has been riparian restoration along a fourteen mile stretch of the Lower Cache Creek and manage the Jan T. Lowrey Nature Preserve, often called the ‘Cache Creek Nature Preserve’.

From humble beginnings as a sheep farm and later a gravel mining operation, the Cache Creek Nature Preserve has served as a local gem for nature-lovers, school field trips, research, and wildlife.

Cache Creek Conservancy is teaming up with partners and supporters to bring festivities to this family-friendly day. There will be activities such as demonstrations, hay rides, touch-a-truck, partner organization and activity tables, plus so much more. The nature preserve’s visitor center will also debut its grand-reopening!
