During the summer it’s all about Camp Adobe! During the ten-week summer program the Peña Adobe Historical Society hosted over 435 campers as they toured the Peña Adobe & Museum and learned of the Native Americans who lived here before the Vaca and Peña families arrived in 1841. This year, campers learned how to work with tule as the local Native Americas did, each camper made a tule bracelet to wear! Campers also visited with McQueeny’s goats from Napa, Alexis Joseph’s miniature horses and chickens from Lucky Ones Animal Sanctuary! Campers learned about chores the Peñas did in the 1800’s, laundry, making butter and cattle roping! We finished the summer camp season with a visit from Cal Fire and the Solano County Sheriff K9 unit!
