California Raptor Center & Aaron Haiman Visit Peña Adobe, Saturday, August 2, 2025
Come to Peña Adobe on Saturday August 2nd when the Peña Adobe Historical Society welcomes the UC Davis California Raptor Center and author Aaron Haiman from 11:00am to 2:00 pm.
The California Raptor Center (CRC) provides a home for non-releasable birds and uses them as educators. Golden Eagles, Red-tailed Hawks, Great Horned Owls, and American Kestrels can almost always be found in their enclosures at the CRC. Meet Claire Stover, Outreach Coordinator for the California Raptor Center who will share taxidermy materials, falconry gear, “find the owl” photos, skulls, and talons from the CRC!
Aaron N. K. Haiman is the author of “Birds of the California Delta,” a guide to the avian diversity in the Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta region. He is a Senior Environmental Scientist working for a California State Agency, the Wildlife Conservation Board. Meet Aaron, a lifelong birder from 5 years of age, who began volunteering at the Golden Gate Raptor Observatory as a youngster! He later went on to earn a BS in Environmental Science from UC Berkeley as well as MS degrees in Avian Science and Animal Behavior from UC Davis.
